Empowering The Next Generation of Surigao’s Leaders

March 30, 2026

March 30, 2026 – Day 1 of our Capacity Building Webinar Series laid a strong and empowering foundation as we focused on Rights and Protection for our graduating female scholars of Surigao City. The session centered on the vital provisions of Republic Act No.

9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004) and Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Space Act), reinforcing that knowledge of the law is a powerful tool for protection and empowerment.

Our heartfelt appreciation to our esteemed speakers who generously shared their expertise: Prosecutors Janine S. Coniato of the DOJ – National Prosecution Service/Office of the Provincial Prosecutor, JCI Surigao North member – Lenie Liray, RSW, JD, Head of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and Beverly Elizar, RSW, Assistant Officer of CSWDO.

Their insight equipped our scholars with a deeper understanding of their rights and the support systems available to them. March 31, 2026 – Day 2 of our Career Readiness: Effective Preparation of Resume/CVs and Mastering the PDS/CSC Form 212.

The transition from student to professional is a leap of faith. Day 2 focused on the practicalities of the ‘real-world’ to navigating workplace dynamics.

JCI Surigao North is proud to see these young women ready to shatter glass ceiling across every industry. We extend our sincere gratitude to our inspiring speakers: Ma.

Cristel Bagtaso of HRMDO, Eduhome Enterprises Inc., and Atty. Princess Jezrael Frondozo of the Department of Justice/Public Attorney’s Office.

Their valuable guidance and real-world insights empowered our scholars to present themselves with confidence, professionalism, and purpose.
