Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) recently convened its student leaders for “LAYAG: The 2nd SNSU-Wide Student Summit 2026,” an event dedicated to fostering collaborative leadership and sustainable growth in the region. The summit provided a venue for students to learn how to move beyond basic organizational tasks and toward creating a lasting impact in their communities. The morning plenary session was led by Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel, the 2025 Local Organization President of JCI Surigao North, who spoke on the theme “Empowering Youth, Transforming Communities”. She shared a powerful message highlighting leadership rooted in service, accountability, and intentional action. Pres. Kring challenged the students to lead beyond their official positions, urging them to focus on how their work can truly transform the lives of those around them through purposeful and responsible service. In the afternoon, the summit transitioned into specialized breakout sessions, including a workshop on strategic partnerships led by Kenn Edgar A. Parojinog, the 2026 Vice President for Individual Development of JCI Surigao North. In his session titled “The Navigator’s Blueprint: Connection. Leadership. Impact,” VP Kenn introduced a professional framework designed to help student organizations bridge social gaps through collective action. He emphasized that every successful project begins with a clear vision and an honest assessment of the community’s needs.
Equipped with the Navigator’s Blueprint and a shared commitment to service, these young leaders are now prepared to steer their organizations toward a future where every connection creates a meaningful and lasting impact to the community.
